The Space
My family and I welcome you to our cottage. We hope you find your stay as peaceful as we do. We are located on the mighty Magnetawan River, which provides big-lake-feel views! Our cottage features a western exposure so you can marvel at the spectacular sunsets on the water. We have a large grassy lot with steps down to the water and dock. We have a large deck featuring our BBQ (propane provided) and patio set for 6. Cook up a meal and enjoy the view of the water! Our outdoor fire pit is the perfect place to enjoy some yummy s’mores (be sure to grab some firewood on the way in!).
Your family and friends will feel right at home in our spacious open concept main floor with kitchen, dining room and cozy living room with large windows that overlook the water and let in lots of natural light. Prepare gourmet meals in our fully stocked kitchen with ample counter space. The large dining table area has a large table with seating for six and is the perfect place to have a family dinner followed by a games night. The living room contains two large couches to sink into and watch TV or read a book.
Downstairs features our spacious rec room with a wood stove. Cozy up to the fire to watch a movie/TV program on one of our two couches, or work on a puzzle at the puzzle table. From the rec room is a door leading outside to the fire pit and water.
Each bedroom contains a dresser and/or closet to store your belongings. Our feature is the secluded massive master bedroom with a king-sized bed, walkout balcony, and an ensuite bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.

The cottage is strong and secure for all types of weather and can be enjoyed year-round! Water activities include fishing, where bass, pickerel, pike, and perch can be caught. What better holiday than to while away the time with a fishing line hanging from your boat as you ease down the Magnetawan River. The river gets fairly deep fairly quickly, with the water depth at the end of the dock being about 5 ft at lowest water levels. There is a private waterfront area to wade in with water shoes. There are walking and bike trails in the area. In the winter, you can do some snowshoeing or cross country skiing, or use your snowmobile to explore the many trails in the area.
Guest Access
You will have access to the entire cottage and listed amenities, which includes the 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the kitchen, living room and rec room, all for your use. In the summer, there is a dock and waterfront available to you. Feel free to use the laundry machines and there is plenty of space for parking.
Interaction with guests
We live in Mississauga but are only a quick text or phone call away to help you with anything you might need! Most of the time we will not be available to meet with guests but don’t hesitate to contact us.
Other Things to Note
We take being good hosts seriously, and we are proud “Hostfully Hosts.” This means when you stay with us, we will email you a Hostfully guidebook link. The guidebook contains all the essential information about our cottage, as well as provide recommendations for things to do in the surrounding areas. It’s easy to navigate, and if you are out and about, you can access it from your phone.
We are LGBTQ friendly!
Linens: sheets, pillows, duvets with covers, inside towels and extra blankets are available for you. You will need to provide your own beach towels.
The running water is pumped from the river, therefore we recommend drinking bottled water. There will be water initially provided in the water cooler for you during your stay, but we recommend bringing extra drinking water. The house plumbing works on a septic system.
We are in nature! We have a bug zapper on the deck in the summer but if you’re not a fan of bugs we recommend bringing bug repellant!
